About

Zuri Clarno is a senior Musical Theatre major at the University of Michigan. She will receive her BFA with honors in May of 2026. Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, she’s got “Ohio blood, but a Michigan heart.” Her earliest days were spent reading, writing, and exploring the world around her. Being outdoors is one of her greatest creative resources.

As an artist, Zuri draws on her emotional depth to capture the pulse of our shared existence. Art has an inherent capacity to change the world and must be engaged in with that mindset.

Most recently, she participated in the cultural exchange semester at LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts), specializing in classical acting. While there, she played Susan in “The Witch of Edmonton” and Olivia in “Twelfth Night.”

In April, she will perform in Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 at the Power Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Tickets can be purchased here.

In May, she will perform in UMich Musical Theatre 2026’s Ann Arbor Showcase on May 3rd. There will be two showings at 4:00 PM and 7:30 PM. Tickets are available here.

Also in May, the graduating class of UMich MT ‘26 will perform at Green Room 42 on May 14th at 9:30 PM.
